Today we painted a picture about the beach. I was excited because we were painting flowers and two boats. First I drew the picture with charcoal pencil. Afterwards I first painted the background with dirty sponge and stapled it with paint. Then I used the paint brush to paint the rest. I chose orange for the wheat, yellow for the sand, green for grass and blue for the sea. The flowers were pohutukawa. It was funny when Shuah was sitting next to me she hi-fived me with paint all over my hand. The problem was that Mrs Young didn't have enough black paint for us. Instead we used other colours for the out line. I want to improve not to talk to anyone so I can get my work done faster and to do it carefully.
Getting a Black Eye While Body Surfing
I was walking slowly down the sandy steep hill. It was freezing even though the sun was shining. Water was getting closer and closer, rushing through my toes at the end of the sea shore. I hopped onto the board carefully and felt the water under my tingling toes. There were only small waves. “Come, let’s catch this wave.” I didn’t get it. I waited and I waited, but no there were no big waves. The small waves waved at me as if I was a famous person.
We had a break. Afterwards we went in for another round. Now there were really huge waves. This was fun! Shivering as a cold penguin, waddling side to side, I stood patiently on my board. I felt goosebumps everywhere on my body. Then I saw a huge wave. It was a tsunami of a wave heading for me. Frightened I looked up. The wave was getting closer and closer. I was paddling as fast as I could like a professional surfer. Then... bang the board hit me in the face. I could feel my eye swell up.
Back at the beach I ran to my dad, crying like a baby. “Hope you all had a good time,” my uncle said. I wasn’t so sure that I did, but I didn’t say anything.
